Synopsis[]
The hunt for the Sandman, the only one who can repair Lunia's hourglass, brings the kids to the dangerous Murky Realm, where memories go to die!

The Nightmare King spying on the Dream Chasers.
The Nightmare King tries to see what the Dream Chasers are up to, even reprimanding Sneak, Snivel, and Susan when they disturb him, until a loud sound goes off, frustrating him. As it turns out, Francis B. Wooley Middle School is holding auditions in the auditorium for a DJ to play at the Fall Festival with Logan being the one causing the noise as he plays his audition mix. Jayden and Coach Jeffries were amazed, except for Julie Putnam, even making the latter change his opinion upon a stern glare from her. In the hallway, Mateo asks Zoey if she was gonna audition, but she tells him she had no intention just as Logan came over, hoping his mix is chosen. However, Jeffries tells him that he had already been rejected. Mr. Oz soon showed up, telling the group their search for the Sandman continues.

The Spacebus is attacked by the Nightmare Galleon.
Some time later, the Spacebus is attacked by Grimspawn and the Nightmare Shark Ship, until the Spacebus enters a green fog bank, making the shark ship stop. While moving through the fog, a floating rock hits one of the Spacebus' thrusters and they crash land on another floating rock. As Albert heads into the engine room, this causes a change in weight stability as the Spacebus falls down on top of several more. Albert soon came out with bad news that repairs will need to be made, but pleased the Nightmare King didn't follow them as their location, the Murky Realm, is where forgotten dreams end up, due to athazagoraphobia, a perfect place for the Sandman to hide before Mr. Oz points out the Sandman's Tower up ahead. Desperate to head for the Waking World and refusing to go into the Murky Realm, the Nightmare King sends in the Night Hunter, which he reluctantly accepts.
While trying to repair the engines, Logan's loud music disrupts their work, so he reluctantly listens to it on some headphones. As soon as he did so, soul music was soon heard, drawing the Dream Chasers' attention and putting them in a trance, until Logan gets out to see what was going on, inadvertently unplugging his headphones from his phone, which started to play his music aloud, snapping them out of their trance before Mateo, Zoey, and Z-Blob end up falling off the Spacebus and get separated. Mateo comes across some flying mermaids before noticing some around Z-Blob and rescues him, but ends up surrounded by them, until Zoey, using her pocket watch to freeze time, rescues them. As they're still surrounded by them, which Zoey identifies them as Sirens, Mateo tries to get her to use her bow to play music, but she revealed that she has forgotten how to. Back at the Spacebus, Logan's loud music was drawing the Sirens away before the Dream Chasers plan to rescue their comrades while Albert stayed to do repairs and use Logan's phone to protect himself from the Sirens while they use the latter's portable stereo, which plays his new track Eardrum Death Punch.

Mateo and Zoey comes across a woman.
As Mateo, Zoey, Z-Blob continue trying to get away, the Sirens suddenly stop and flee before the two humans discuss their hobbies and how they're important to each other, until they come across a woman, who attempts to guide them. Zoey then confesses a song that her mother would sing to her before the Night Hunter took it. The memory was now being twisted and making her forget, including how she was taught how to play guitar and sing, and is worried she’ll be gone forever. Refusing to let it happen, Zoey moves to follow the woman and Mateo moves to catch up with her, unaware that the Night Hunter was behind them and was about to start following them when he sees some seals, but continues regardless, even scaring off some Sirens.

A mysterious light attracts Zoey.
While following the old woman, Mateo and Zoey end up getting separated before Mateo came across a cauldron spilling out red mist and many bottles. Coming across the woman, revealing to be blind, he asks for Zoey's location, and she guides him. As they continue their search for Mateo, Zoey, and Z-Blob, the Dream Chasers come across one of seals, but carry on, regardless. While trying to find her way through the fog, Zoey hears music and eventually comes across the Night Hunter before they fight, during which, one of the seals ends up broken and the Night Hunter wins, leaving with calling Zoey 'kiddo', confusing her. As she continued trying to find her way, a bright light attracts Zoey's attention and she sees a silhouette of a woman playing a guitar, whom she recognizes it's her mother. The blind woman shows Mateo a bottle, containing the memory of Zoey's mother and reveals she collects forgotten dreams to protect them, make them nostalgic and comforting, one of which was when his mother gave him his very first art set for his birthday and how he first came up with Z-Blob and starts to relive it. Izzie ends up separated from the others before coming across a memory of her bedroom with Mr. Sharkyjaw, which she remembered was a post dentist appointment gift from her mother. She then hears a voice and sees a woman in red trying to deceive her before she tries to entangle her in vines, but she quickly escapes. The woman in red then tried to deceive Mateo, but he remembered how his mother tried encouraging him to share his drawings. The woman soon transforms, revealing to be the blind woman, who proclaims Mateo and his friends won't leave the Murky Realm and entangles him before the Night Hunter shows up, revealing the woman does her intentions due to being trapped. The woman, seeking revenge for the Nightmare King trapping her, commands her raven to attack the Night Hunter before she pours a memory into her caldron, which soon conjures a Grimwolf before it charges at him as well. Mateo and Z-Blob use the opportunity to escape, taking the memory of Zoey's mother in the process.

Izzie manages to reach the others, but breaks Logan's stereo, and tells them of her encounter before they follow her and find Zoey, entangled and in a trance due to reliving the memory, and try to free her until Mateo and Z-Blob show up, and the latter frees her, causing her to return to normal. When the Sirens soon surround them, loud music disrupts them and they see it was the repaired Spacebus before they eventually escape in it, Mateo comforting Zoey by giving her the memory of her mother. They eventually reach the Sandman's tower, where he offers to repair Lunia's hourglass in exchange for a dream so he can recycle it before Zoey hands him the memory of her mother as payment, which he accepts and repairs the hourglass.

The Night Hunter eventually escapes the woman, who is stopped by a barrier until she manages to break through it.
