The Sandman is a dream creature who recycles forgotten dreams into fresh ones and serves as an hourglass repairman for dreamers. Initially residing in a cave of Pillows Peak, the Sandman eventually relocated to his Tower within the Murky Realm to avoid the Nightmare King.
After the Nightmare King returned, the Dream Chasers embarked on a quest to find the Sandman in order to fix Lunia's Hourglass.

Background[]
Originally the Sandman inhabited a cave in Pillow's Peak before leaving for unknown reasons but left behind a seashell which Jim later found and then later giving it to the Dream Chasers.
Songs of the Mist[]
After weeks of searching, the Dream Chasers discover the Sandman's location, narrowly escaping the Never Witch, they meet up with him to repair Lunia's hourglass, which he does so with a dream as payment. Zoey gives him the dream of the memory of Hannah's song that Mateo had found to act as the payment.
Memory Chasers[]
Mateo, Izzie, and Logan decided to seek advice from the Sandman in hopes of uncovering the truth behind their missing memories. However, their hopes were dashed when the Sandman casually dismissed them, claiming that their situation did not align with typical cases of forgotten dreams, as he did not keep track of ravens, which were associated with the memory loss. The Sandman then directed their attention towards the Never Witch, suggesting that she might be the culprit behind their memory theft. This revelation prompted the Brooklyn Bureau to realize that their memories were indeed stolen by the Never Witch.
Subsequently, a conflict arose between the Sandman and the Never Witch as a result of the Sandman directing the Brooklyn Bureau's pursuit of the Never Witch, leading to a confrontation where the Sandman attempted to outsmart the witch. Despite his attempts, the Sandman was overwhelmed by a Grimwolf and eventually ensnared in a doom-dome by the Never Witch.

- Hourglass Repair - The Sandman has the ability to fix broken hourglasses, even the ones that were used by Dream Keepers, it usually costs a forgotten dream to fix any hourglass, it's unknown if the forgotten dreams are his sources of power to better focus or if it's simply just some kind of test for the Dreamer.
- Mnemokinesis - The Sandman is able to remember forgotten dreams when shared and show them to others.
- Knowledge Projection - The Sandman is able to project the forgotten dreams both physically and through his own memory.
- Knowledge Replication - The Sandman is able to replicate the forgotten dreams he's seen.
- Memory Restoration - It was implied that the Sandman is able to restore forgotten dreams.
- Knowledge Projection - The Sandman is able to project the forgotten dreams both physically and through his own memory.
- Psammokinesis - The Sandman is able to manipulate dream sand without the use of Dream Crafting.

- According to Asa Tait, the Sandman in DREAMZzz is different from the character in European folklore.[1]
- The Sandman uses the conventional leg piece instead of an ethereal tail in the sets. He also uses the ghostly pedestal piece in the sets, symbolizing his misty tail in the show.
- This was later used for the Never Witch.
- According to Tommy Andreasen, the Sandman is considered the nearest dream creature to being the Guardian of the Murky Realm.[2]
